3- A tool that calls a paid API says so at the top of its `main.rs`, with
4  roughly what a run costs.
5- A script here reads the environment and says what is missing; it never assumes nix or
6  mise. The versions it needs are `mise.toml`'s, and a script that repeats one is checked by
7  `check-versions.sh`.
